Financial Institution

A prominent Financial Institution based in the Western Cape, which is a registered South African credit provider has appointed FS-Systems for a complete design, supply and implementation of their security systems. This institution offers cost effective and accessible financial service products and solutions to South Africans. Due to security concerns we are not permitted to name the financial institution.

The world of finance is constantly changing and criminals are finding new and innovative ways of conducting their illegal activities. Financial houses are facing stronger demands for cost efficiency and day-to-day compliance and these institutions face many security challenges from protecting people to property. Operational continuity and risk management along with management of health and safety, staff, visitors and contractors, and general security factor heavily in day-to-day operations.

FS Systems was selected as the preferred Security Systems Integrator in March 2014 to address all their security concerns at their new offices.

Following a detailed analysis and scoping session with all stakeholders the following systems where recommended and implemented by us;

We installed an Avigilon IP Video Surveillance System (bullet cameras and dome cameras) to monitor their perimeter as well as internal passage areas.

We decided on the Avigilon solution because it gives the best images required for identification.

We installed a fully SANS compliant EN54 TOA VM3000 Voice Evacuation System throughout their facility with speakers, amplifiers, microphone, emergency power supply unit with back backup housed neatly in a 19’’ equipment rack located in the Main Control Room (MCR). All speakers were wired with the new SANS10139 approved PH30 fire resistant cable.

We installed a Ziton addressable fire detection system throughout the complex as well as an FM200 gas suppression system in their server room to protect their valuable financial data. All line devices were wired with the new SANS10139 approved PH120 fire resistant cable.

We installed an Impro card and Sagem biometric access control solution at their facility to monitor access points and all fire escapes. Our solution allowed our customer to use their existing access control cards and we simply needed to import their existing database of information so no additional programming and/or access cards were required. We also implemented a Time and Attendance (Clock-in system) as per our customer’s requirements which runs off the same Impro platform. Our access control scope included all physical barriers such as full height turnstiles and automatic vehicle barriers.

The project was successfully completed in January 2015 and customer was so happy with our services they they awarded us the maintenance contract.
