Giving back with Life Safety and Fire Detection at Frances Vorwerg School

Updated: Aug 15, 2019

FS-Systems had the opportunity to assist Frances Vorwerg School with their Life Safety and Fire Detection system, as one of our CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) Initiatives.

Frances Vorwerg School specialises in the education of learners between ages 3 and 18, with physical and learning disabilities, and offers hostel facilities for both boys and girls during the week. After hearing about a fire at a Western Cape School for the Deaf, one of the Teachers reached out to FS-Systems to assist. With very little life safety or fire detection systems in place, her biggest concern was that in the event of a fire, the hostel parents would not have early enough warning to assist the children in getting to safety.

FS-Systems came on board to assist the school as a CSR initiative, which also aligned with one of our strategic key verticals we service, namely "Education".

The Johannesburg Team and their families got involved and went through to assist with Phase 1 of the installation on Saturday the 2nd of February. The Team arrived at 08h00 and after a Health, Safety and Toolbox Talk, went to work. Everyone got involved and had fun whilst learning a lot about installations from our technical experts.

This is a great opportunity to give back to the community by Protecting Lives and Assets through Technology. FS-Systems is looking forward to assisting the school with Phase 2 of the installation.
